How to get init.d support on any Android phone

init.d is a feature which allows user to tweak the Android system effectively with scripts and mods.

How to find whether my phone has init.d support or not:

You can find whether your phone has got init.d support or not by simply following the below methods,

Method 1: Open root explorer or ES file explorer and browse to following folder "root/system/etc" if you can find init.d folder in the etc folder then your phone has init.d support and don't have to do the installation process again.

Method 2: Install and open Universal init.d support application and click the Verify button. It will ask for root permissions you have to grant it to check init.d is available or not. After checking it will prompt you the result.

How to activate init.d support on your Android phone:

Activating the init.d support in Android phone requires typing few codes in the script manager terminal in old days! But now you can activate the init.d support easily by using the app developed by XDA developer Universal init.d support.

Most of the custom kernel comes with init.d support by default, if you have installed any custom kernel already then you better verify before activating the init.d support.


  • To activate the init.d support you have to install Universal init.d support app from here
  • After installing open the application and grant super user permission
  • Now click on Activate button and sit back
