How to flash a custom ROM on any android phone with cwm recovery installed

Who wants to use the same stock Android ROM on their phone for a long time? Chances are there you may get bored with your stock ROM, If you got bored with your stock ROM then you can give a fresh look to your Android phone using the custom ROM made for your Android phone.

Flashing custom ROM for the first time would look like a panic or impossible task. But in reality, it is very easy to flash the custom ROM on your android phone, in this post I am going to guide you and tell some useful tips while flashing a ROM.

Before we begin, let we see what is Custom ROM called!

Custom ROM is usually called as modified ROM which are developed from stock ROM or created newly using the Linux. There are lots of custom ROM available for different types of handsets. 

Some of famous custom Rom's are cyanogen mod, paranoid android, Omni ROM and much more available for android phones. Only limited number of models are supported by this Rom's. You should check whether your android phone model is supported by the ROM before installing it!

Okay let's get right into this, you need a .zip file of custom ROM you wish to install. You can get it from searching on google download it.

You can also get custom ROM for your android device by searching on XDA-Developers website. XDA is an android developer community you can find ROM developed by developers in that website. Go to the website and search your phone model and you will find all developed mods for your android device.

Follow the steps below to install custom recovery on your android device,


  • Download and copy the custom ROM in external memory of your android phone
  • Reboot your android device into recovery mode
  • Now clear the Dalvik cache under the advanced menu of CWM
  • Clear the system cache
  • Clear the system data
  • Now select install zip
  • Browse to your ROM package and install
It will take several minutes to install the custom ROM package you must wait till it finishes the installation don't interfere the installation it will lead to bricked device.

After finishing the installation reboot your device, first boot will take more time than usual so don't get panic.
